MUSICIANS
Andrew Mooney is one of our trumpeters. He is a medical professional by day and enjoys playing his trumpet with the Yellow Dog group.
Cortland Eble is another trumpeter. He is a geologist by trade and a community trumpet player in his spare time. Cortland also plays with the Central Kentucky Concert Band.
Devon Miller joined the band as a classical clarinetist and always wanted to play traditional jazz music. She handles the busy clarinet parts like few other players.
Rachel Jacobs is the bass player for the band. She handles the bass part with a barry saxophone! She also Central Kentucky Concert Band.
Jason Gilliam is the tenor banjo player for the band. He is an accomplished rock guitar player and vocalist, and he plays lead guitar with a Teacher Rock Band. He is a guidance counselor for Fayette County Public Schools.
Phil Kent is the trombone player for the group. While Phil's strength is on strings, he enjoys the challenge and variety that comes with playing trombone, especially in the genre of Yellow Dog music. Phil is an elementary and middle school orchestra teacher for Fayette County Schools.
Aaron Ferral is the pianist and organizer for the band. Aaron brought the music with him to Lexington in 2010 and started the band. Aaron also plays trumpet and trombone in other local ensembles, and tuba for the Wienerschnitzels German Band. Aaron is a technology teacher for Fayette County Schools.
